Membership and Baptism

One can become a member at Flint Hill by a Profession of Your Faith in Jesus Christ and Baptism into the church. Or by a transfer of your membership from another church.

Holy Baptism is a Covenant between an individual and God.  It is God’s word to us, proclaiming our adoption by grace and our word to God, promising our response of faith and love. The Sacrament of Baptism also includes promises for the church and individual or family to be bonded together.

Flint Hill UMC welcomes your inquiry about the Sacrament of Baptism and we look forward to assisting your family with planning this special day.  It is our desire to make your baptism a most memorable occasion.

Persons of all ages can be baptized at Flint Hill.  We baptize by sprinkling or pouring Holy Water.  Part of the baptism service includes joining the congregation at Flint Hill andthe United Methodist Church.

The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms from other faiths and churches and therefore does not “re-baptize”. We do however, allow you to remember your baptism at a Special Baptism Woship Service.
